Marshall Masayesva (Hopi)

Coordinator and Chaperone

 

Marshall is from the village of Bacavi and is paaqapwungwu (bamboo clan). He was a participant for the 2005 and 2006 NYCE Journeys. Fresh out of High School, Marshall was nominated by a youth coordinator who saw potential for the exchange to have a positive impact on his life. Soon after the Journey, he enrolled in college and recently graduated with his B.A. He is giving back to the program by coordinating and chaperoning the 2014 exchange.

Brian Monongye (Hopi)

Coordinator and Chaperone

 

Brian is from the village of Mungapi Arizona, and belongs to the fire clan. He has been with NYCE for over 12 years. He was first a participant in 2004, then came back in 2005 as a chaperone and has been coordinating the cultural exchange for numerous years. Currently Brian works with NYCE and also sits on the board for Seventh Generation Fund for Indigenous People. Brian credits the Cultural Exchange for opening numerous door ways leading up to where he's at.
